LASH EXTENSION FAQ
What is the difference between volume and classic lashes?
Classic lashes are a heavier SINGLE lash applied to each natural eyelash. Volume lashes are a FAN of 2-5 lighter eyelashes that are applied to each natural lash. Volume lashes will give you a fluffier look.
How should I come to my appointment?
You should come to all your appointment with no eye makeup on, no contact lenses and clean eyelashes. If this is not possible, makeup remover will be provided but it will take away from your lash time. Don't drink coffee or a lot of caffeine before appointment, it will make your eyelids jittery and hard to work with.
What should I expect at my appointment?
You will lay still on a comfortable, padded treatment bed while your extensions are applied. Your bottom lashes are protected and taped down to prevent any sticking to upper lashes. Once your eyes are closed, it is your time to relax! The less you move, the more lashes I will be able to apply on each eye!
What if I want to remove them?
Either let them shed naturally or get them professionally removed! Don't pick them out, you will pull out your natural lashes with them!
Will Eyelash extensions damage my lashes?
No. I am a damage-free lash artist which means I have been trained and certified to apply an eyelash extension to each one of your natural lashes. This will not cause any damage.
How long do they last?
Depending on your lifestyle, aftercare, and natural shedding cycle, a fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks. I remove grown out and loose extensions and replace them with fresh ones. Remember, if you come to your fill appointment with less than 40% left, you will be charged more than a fill. Please come to your refill appointment with clean lashes!
What should and shouldn't I do with my lash extensions?
YOU SHOULD NOT....
Wet or expose your lashes to any water or steam (hot tubs, saunas, etc.) for the first 24 hours.
Wash your lashes under a shower head (wash gently in a sink or away from any pressure stream).
Use any oil based products around your eyes.
Use any cotton pads or Q-tips around your lashes. Cotton fibers will tangle around your lashes.
Use products containing any glycols as they can break down the bond and shorten the life of the extensions.
Use any mascara
Perm or use a lash curler. You will permanently bend your lashes and they cannot be repaired.
Touch, pull, twist or rub your lashes
Sleep on your face
Cut your lash extensions
Keep your lashes as clean as possible!
Wash your lashes every 3 days with recommended lash wash and brush
Sleep on your back or side with lashes not touching your pillow cases. Silk pillow cases help lashes stay on longer if you do sleep on them.
Come for fills every 2-3 weeks
Enjoy your lashes!
Can you fill my eyelashes done by another lash artist?
Sometimes. If you have lashes from another lash artist I need to look at your lashes first. If the lashes were not properly put on, the appointment may take longer than expected to fix your lashes. In some cases, I need to remove your lashes and apply a new set.
Do you use real mink lashes?
NO! I am against animal cruelty, which is why I do not and never will use real mink fur for lash extensions. I use faux-mink lashes, which are man-made and designed to imitate real mink fur. They are very fine, soft and silky, just like real fur. However, they have been improved slightly, in that if you wet them, they won’t lose their curl. When wet, real mink fur lashes become straight and wispy which is why most lashes do not use them anymore.
LASH LIFT FAQ
What is a lash lift?
It's a lifting/ curling technique designed to give you longer-looking lashes without the need for lash extensions. It will look as if you used a really good eyelash curler. A lash tint is an option with the service so you won't need to worry about mascara.
How long does it last?
On average a lash lift lasts about 6-8 weeks. However, it depends on your lash growth cycle and some individuals may need to come sooner than 6 weeks or later than 8 weeks.
How should I come to my appointment?
You need to come to your appointment with no makeup on and your contacts removed.
Can I get a lash lift and eyelash extensions together?
No. The lash lift is used as an alternative to eyelash extensions. If you decide you want eyelash extensions, you have to wait 2 weeks after your lash lift.
Is this service gluten free and vegan?
This service is considered gluten free but unfortunately it cannot be considered vegan because it does contain lanolin. However, the lash lift is not tested on animals and it's formaldehyde, latex, and paraben free!
What do I need to do after my service?
You need to avoid steam, water, oils, lotions, creams, makeup remover, sleeping on your face and mascara for 24 hours after your service. After the initial 24 hours, you can do all of the above besides applying oil to them. For the duration of your lift, do not use products that have a lot of oils around your eyes because it will make the lift fall much quicker.
Will this damage my eyelashes?
NO! I am certified in the Elleebana One Shot Lash Lift which will not damage your lashes. The solution is only applied to the base of your lashes and never to the ends of them.
